about chatty

A pic I took on our honeymoon in Kauai, and the first pic I posted on chattycha.com v2.

Whenever I lug out our KitchenAid Stand Mixer, I think to myself, wow, we’ve owned this mixer since we got married. That’s … a long time! We have a couch in our TV room that is probably older than our marriage. Here is a list of other things I own (and still use, so the broken 35mm camera hidden in the closet doesn’t count) that are older than that old couch:

chattycha.com

I am fairly certain I first bought this domain in around 2001. I started using WordPress in 2007. Before that, you won’t believe this, but I was hand-coding stuff. Like basic HTML that I learned from a kid down the hall in my dorm in college in the 90s.

This blog has gone all over the place. It’s been where I have posted recipes, fitness updates and stories about my family. Most recently, it’s focused on books I’ve read and articles I have written. This is where we are today, in the beginning of 2021. I am not the same person I was 10 years ago, so if you’ve come for books and you discover some random CrossFit post, just go with the flow, as I have done all these years.

If I knew back then, in the early 2000s, that I’d keep this domain for as long as I have, I might have chosen a name that was a little less cheesy. I sometimes think, I’m not chatty, am I? 20 years later, I think we have an answer. (Yes, the answer is I am)
